Glossary of blister packaging terms for blister products

Blister: a plastic processing technology. The main principle is to heat and soften the flat plastic hard sheet, and then use vacuum to adsorb it on the mold surface. It is formed after cooling. It is widely used in plastic packaging, lighting, advertising, decoration and other industries.

Blister packaging: a general term for plastic products produced by Blister process and packaged with corresponding equipment. Blister packaging products mainly include: blister shell, tray, blister box, synonyms also include: vacuum cover, blister cover, etc. Blister packaging equipment mainly includes: Blister molding machine, punch, sealing machine, high-frequency machine, folding machine. The packaging products formed by packaging can be divided into: card inserting, card absorbing, double bubble shell, half bubble shell, double fold bubble shell, triple fold bubble shell, etc.

Blister shell: the transparent plastic hard sheet is made into a specific convex shape of transparent plastic by plastic absorption process, which is covered on the product surface to protect and beautify the product. Also known as bubble cover and vacuum cover

Tray: also known as plastic inner support, plastic hard sheet is made into special groove plastic by plastic absorption process, and the product is placed in the groove to protect and beautify the product.

Flocking inner support: It is a kind of blister tray made of special materials, which sticks a layer of velvet material on the surface of ordinary plastic hard sheet, so that the surface of the tray has a kind of velvet feel, and is used to improve the grade of packaging products.

Antistatic tray: It is a plastic tray made of special materials, and the surface resistance of the material is less than 10 to the 11th ohm. It is mainly used for blister tray of electronic and IT products.

Blister mold: the mold used for blister production, the lowest cost is gypsum mold, followed by electroplating copper mold, and the most expensive is aluminum mold. The mold is drilled with small holes for vacuum absorption of heated hard pieces to form blister products.

Blister molding: we often talk about blister molding. A blister molding machine is used to adsorb the heated and softened plastic sheet on the surface of the mold. After cooling, it forms a concave convex plastic shape.

Blister cutting: plastic products formed by Blister will be cut into single products with a knife die by a punch.

Folding: There is a kind of blister packaging called card inserting packaging, which needs to fold the three sides of the blister shell to the back with the folding machine, so that the paper card can be inserted into the folding edge in the next packaging process to form the card inserting packaging.

Heat sealing: It is a blister packaging process. The paper card coated with blister oil is heat sealed with the blister shell by a sealing machine to form a blister packaging.

High frequency sealing: It is a blister packaging process, which uses a high frequency machine to generate high frequency and glue the bubble shell and bubble shell together to form a double bubble shell package.

Ultrasonic sealing: It is a blister packaging process. The ultrasonic machine is used to generate ultrasonic waves, and the blister shell and the blister shell are bonded together to form a double blister shell package. Unlike high-frequency sealing, ultrasonic can seal PVC, PETG materials, and PET materials, but also has no electromagnetic damage to the packaged products, which is particularly suitable for the packaging of electronic products; The disadvantage is that the ultrasonic edge sealing can only be intermittent dots, and generally only one straight edge is sealed at a time.
